But I think this article is not old testament style, if you read it carefully. In the beginning it becomes clear, that the virus ist not a punishment by god.

I think that God obviously has His owns plans and maybe even unnecessarily gave man a free will :), but I hope, that God is merciful.
Yes, probably God has his/her own plan, but not that obvious to us. But the virus doesn’t seem to me to belong to a divine plan, for God in the new testament presents himself/herself indeed merciful.
I think so too and everyone should hope that God is merciful. Believers and nonbelievers.
